The Alliance for Oral Health Across Borders is seeking proposals that display innovative oral healthcare research and clinical contributions that focus on underserved populations especially those with special needs. Preference will be given to applications that integrate oral health with general health and projects that address oral health in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Project awardee will receive our Alliance Global Award of $5000.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 15, 2020.
Applicant Criteria
  • Must be able to demonstrate a history of leadership skills in oral healthcare.
  • Must have innovative goals and rationale of project clearly articulated.
  • Must have a project either underway or ready to launch that meets grant guidelines.
  • Must begin work with the Alliance Global Awards Committee by January 1, 2021.
  • Must be a project with defined metrics for evaluation of specific, targeted outcomes.
  • Must include a letter of support from applicant’s institution.
Application Guidelines

Please enter your proposal of no more than 1500 words and include the above criteria.

PowerPoint/video may be included. Describe your project, how it will meet the application criteria and impact of this activity on the target population. If it is a current project, please describe how it can be expanded and how it is different from the solutions that are available at this time. Grantee will be responsible for a 6-month progress report as well as a final summary of project outcomes. Program

Senior Smiles is a project that will develop an online preventive oral health program for older people living in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF) throughout Australia. A website will be launched in September 2020 that will encompass a variety of resources that qualified oral health therapists and dental hygienists will utilize. This website will be created so that it can be easily modified for other special needs groups in the future.
